ipchu (ipchu.com) is a free IP address lookup tool. We take privacy seriously and collect only what is necessary to provide the service.

Information we collect

Your IP address and network data

When you visit ipchu.com, your IP address is used to display your public IP, approximate location (city, region, country), ISP, ASN, and timezone. This information is derived from your connection and is not stored on our servers. Each page request is processed in real time at the Cloudflare edge and discarded immediately.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site (page views, session duration, country of origin). GA4 collects anonymised data including a truncated IP address. You can opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Cookies

We use a single localStorage entry (theme) to remember your light/dark mode preference. No tracking cookies are set by ipchu.com itself. Google Analytics may set its own cookies as described in Google's Privacy Policy.

How we use your data

To display your IP address, location, and network information on the page.
To provide the IP lookup and VPN detection features.
To understand aggregate usage patterns and improve the service.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Third-party services

Cloudflare — CDN and edge runtime. Cloudflare processes every request and may log connection metadata per their own Privacy Policy.
ip-api.com — used for the IP Lookup feature when you search an arbitrary IP. The queried IP is sent to ip-api.com; see their legal page.
Google Analytics 4 — anonymised usage analytics.

Data retention

ipchu.com does not maintain a database of visitor IP addresses. Your IP is processed per-request and never persisted. Google Analytics retains event data for 14 months by default.

Your rights

Because we do not store personal data ourselves, there is no profile or record to access, correct, or delete. For data held by Google Analytics, you can use the opt-out tool linked above.
