1. Use a VPN (recommended)
A VPN encrypts your traffic and routes it through a server elsewhere, so websites see that server's IP and location instead of yours. It's the best all-round option: it covers your whole device, is fast enough for streaming, and hides your IP from sites and your ISP alike. Pick a reputable no-logs provider, connect, then reload this page — your IP and city should change.
2. Use a proxy server
A proxy reroutes traffic for a single app or browser. It can change the IP a website sees, but most proxies don't encrypt your traffic and are less private than a VPN. Good for quick, low-stakes IP changes; not for protecting sensitive data.
3. Use the Tor Browser
Tor bounces your traffic through several volunteer-run relays, making it very hard to trace back to you. It's the most private option and it's free, but it's noticeably slower and some sites block Tor exit nodes. Best when anonymity matters more than speed.
Which should I choose?
- Everyday privacy + speed: VPN.
- Quick one-off IP change: proxy.
- Maximum anonymity: Tor.
After connecting, verify it worked on the home page, or check your new IP location and ISP.
